Juice Review - Parragon Love Food

I love receiving cook books to review ans this month was not exception. This month's book from Parragon was Juice.

Juice

This handy sized book contains over 100 nutritious juice and smoothie recipes. It contains 7 chapters including an introduction to juicing and smoothie making. The introduction gives you all of the hints and tips that you may need as well as advising on equipment that is needed. So if you are new to making juices and smoothies then this book is the ideal way to start!

Following the introduction the book is divided into 6 further chapters. Each chapter is full of juices that do different jobs for your body. They are:
  • Energy
  • Rehydrate
  • Nourish
  • Glow
  • Soothe
  • Detox
Now selecting a recipe to tell you about was the hard part. This book is full of deliciously healthy juices and smoothies. I eventually settled on a refreshing drink. Today is quite muggy so I went for a drink that will really quench my thirst.

Parragon Love Food - Christmas Recipes and Crafts

One thing that I love about Christmas has to be the food. Sometimes I think that it would be great to enjoy some of these flavours throughout the year.

The latest Christmas Recipes and  Crafts book from Parragon Love Food Books is full of delicious, festive recipes and craft ideas. But what I love about this book is that a lot of the recipes that are in this book can be enjoyed throughout the year. I have got so many ideas for Sunday roast dinners and breakfast which would make the perfect, lazy Sunday breakfasts.

Today I thought that I would give you a taster of what this festive book gives, and how I plan to use this book throughout the year...

Kale and Vegetable Linguine - The Weekend Cook Review

I love a good cook book hence why I love being a Parragon Book Buddy. Every month Parragon send me one of their delicious Love Food books to read and review. Last month I was sent a copy of The Weekend Cook.

This book is full of mouth watering recipes that will make you want to entertain all weekend simply so that you have a good excuse to cook some meals that you normally would not have. However there are also plenty of recipes that can be made with less fuss and in less time which leaves you with plenty of time to enjoy the weekend.

This book has seven chapters which cover everything from take away style meals which are perfect for a Friday night to breakfast, brunch and lunch, from breads to Monday morning boosting smoothies.

There really is something for everyone. What I love about this book is the added extras which it contains. It is not simply a recipe book. Within the chapters are pages of information to help you not only cook an outstanding meal but it also tells you how to create the perfect menu, top ten garnishing tips, top ten styling tips and winning wine tips. I know that this will be a book that will be used often, if not for the recipes then definitely for the added information that is included.

To give you a taste of this book I decided to cook the Kale, Lemon and Chive Linguine. Except I decided to make it a little more child friendly and bulk it out with added vegetables. This really is a great mid week meal as well as a weekend treat. It is such a quick and easy dish to make and it is sure to go down well with the whole family. I was delighted to see that there were clean plates all round after I gave this to my family!

Tempt Chocolate Book Review and Recipe for National Chocolate Week

Don't you just love it when a national week is a food which you love! This week is both National Chocolate Week and National Curry Week!

Two foods which are great!

I was recently sent a copy of Tempt from Parragon Books. Tempt is a book dedicated to everything chocolate. It is full of decadent and delicious chocolate recipes from fudge to biscuits, from cakes to slabs, from ice creams to puddings. Every page will make your mouth water and your tummy rumble. I completely intend to make as many of these recipes as I can.

When it came to selecting a recipe to try I will admit to changing my mind many a time. In the end I decided to make Plain Chocolate and Peanut Butter Energy Balls. I selected this recipe as I love peanut butter and find that if you purchase the right sort of peanut butter it really is good for you and can provide you with a natural source of energy. The recipe also includes linseed and I decided to add my own different ingredients. I have altered the ingredients slightly to accommodate the added extras. But you can find the original recipe in this delicious book which is available to buy in Waterstones and WHSmith.

This is what I did...

Recently I became a Parragon Book Buddy. Each month I will be trying out and reviewing one of their fantastic cook books! I love cook books and have a great collection already but I do not really use many of them now, so I am hoping that reviewing these books will help me, and you the reader, discover some new books to fall in love with.
