Alphabet Project - Y

Believe it or not Y was an easy one for me. One word stood out. That word is...

Yellow

Yellow is a colour that I love to see. It is such a happy, vibrant colour. It always makes me feel warm and happy. Whenever I see yellow flowers I am drawn to them and their beauty. Yellow reminds me of a warm, sunny, summers day. It is never dull, but always cheerful!

That is why I have chosen Yellow as my Y word.

Wellies

I honestly never thought I'd love a pair of wellies like I do my lilac Hunter boots. As we live in the countryside, during the wet weather, they are always on my feet. As you can see I wear them with anything. When I go to tend to the chickens, at this time of year, they are essential as it gets so muddy. I have got to admit they do add a touch of glamour to the most mucky, muddy jobs!

That is why my W is for Wellies!

Alphabet Project - V

This is a letter that has had me a little stuck on what to use.

So after looking through my pictures I did come up with one. This is a word that I love as it is a fantastic descriptive word.

My V is for...

VIBRANT

I love photographing flowers in macro. I find the details fascinating but I also love the vibrant colours. You are able to see the flowers from a different angle that most people do not notice.

I think that having vibrant colours in the garden really does bring it to life. Even on a dull day the colours can brighten up the day a little. I miss that as the season changes the vibrant colours die down a little, however I do always enjoy seeing the autumnal shades that are beginning to come out.

That is why I have chosen Vibrant as my V word.

Alphabet Project - U

This week I have selected pictures that are not the best quality but they have been taken during some of the best times. It is easier to capture these moments on the camera on my phone. We are more often than not messing around and playing so can often be a bit blurred but they have caught a special moment in time.

This week I could not select just one as my U word is for everyone. My word is

Us

Us is the perfect word for U.

These are the people that make my world go round, they are what holds me together. They are my everything. I would be lost without them. All of these pictures make me smile.

They all sum up "Us".

Alphabet Project - T

This week T could only be for one person. That person is...

Taylor

My little Taylor.

My little mummy's boy.

When the twins were babies I usually had Taylor while the hubby had Isabella during feeds. This has resulted in Taylor being such a mummy's boy. Which at times has been hard. When he was smaller he was literally stuck to my hip and would scream if  I left him. Thankfully he has just about grown out of that but he is still extremely close and clingy to me. Which if I am honest, I love! Taylor is the youngest twin by one minute and after he was born he spent longer in neonatal care. Taylor was born with fluid on his lungs and struggled to breath so spent a week in an incubator. It was heartbreaking seeing my second son in an incubator as his big brother was. I missed those first cuddles, the first contact, the first feed, all over again, it was so hard. So when he was finally taken out of the incubator I made up for it and tried to make up for what he had missed that Isabella had. I know deep down that he really didn't know but at the time I honestly thought that he did.

My little man can drive me to the brink of despair but when he looks at me with those beautiful eyes he melts my heart.

This week my S was an easy choice. My S is for...

Soul mate

This is my hubby who really is my soul mate.

He is my best friend, my lover, my rock, he is my everything. I know that I can always depend on him to be there. He has always been so supportive, but even more so during the past 3 months. He has held me up and helped stopped me drowning in depression and this is something which he continues to do. I really would be lost without him. We are never apart for long and rarely go out without each other.

My hubby, James, is quite literally my other half, without him I am incomplete.

Reading

I have always loved reading ever since I was a child. However after the twins were born this was one hobby that stopped. I simply did not have the time or energy to pick up a book. On holiday I took a book and am now enjoying the first book that I have started to read in two and a half years. I am now half way through and have reignited my love for books. This is also another step to start doing more for me.

My Q is...

Quietude

This is the view that we woke up to every morning on holiday. I have never had a more calm, tranquil holiday. Quietude, a state of being calm and peaceful, sums up perfectly what it was like. I have come home feeling truly refreshed. I enjoyed the environment so much I really was not ready to leave! In fact I am even looking at next years holiday and cannot wait to get something booked. But for now I am counting down to our next holiday in October and our winter wonderland break.

This week my P is for...

Pout

This is me and my precious (another P!) little lady. She loves playing with the phone and taking silly selfies. This once really makes me smile, here is her first pouting picture. She is my pride and joy, obviously so are her brothers but I feel a lovely bond with my only girl. I love spending time with her doing girlie things, I love how she looks up to me and copies my every move. However I think that we will be practising the pout a bit more!

Normanby Hall

Normanby Hall is a place that I often talk about. Every year we buy an annual pass and return over and over. My grandparents used to take me there when I was a child. I remember running around, enjoying the freedom, feeding the ducks and riding on the miniature train. After Joseph was born I started to take him and now we take the twins. I love that they are all creating memories as I did.

MISCHIEVOUS

The twins are now two and a half and are most definitely mischievous! As there are two of them I find that they encourage each other. I have nicknamed them the tag team twins! They are such a little double act. At times they have me running left, right and centre. One goes one way while the other goes the opposite way. The more they giggle the more they carry on! But when I look at  their beautiful cheeky grins, my heart melts and I just laugh and giggle with them!

KIRSTY (ME)

This is me, stay at home mum to Joseph (9), Isabella and Taylor (2) and housewife to hubby.

As you'll know I love to cook and bake. After hating food and suffering with anorexia and bulimia in the past I now enjoy my food and have a passion for it.

After spending 7 years living abroad I am now very much a home bird. I do not venture far without my loved ones by my side. But I am getting more adventurous with a certain trip to London next year already booked!

This weeks letter is J.

J could be two very special people in my life but one fits nicely into another letter so I am going to save him for then.

My J this week is...

JOSEPH

Joseph is my first born and his arrival really did change my life. He calmed me down and made me look at how I was living my life. He brought me back home to my family in England after living abroad for 7 years. He did so much more for me than he'll even know.

He has adapted so well to the big changes in our lives. Meeting the hubby was a huge change that gave Joseph the Dad that he wished for. Then the transition going from a family of three to a family of five. This was a massive change for Joseph, having a new baby is always going to be big but he had too deal with twins! He has always taken everything in his stride and I am so very proud of him.

That is why my J has to be Joseph x

Alphabet Project - G

My G has to be...

Garden

Our garden is such an important part of home life. We all love being out and my hubby has worked so hard creating the perfect garden. We a fortunate to have a long garden and have dedicate the bottom third to purely fruit, vegetables and chickens. The middle third is the children's area for ball games, the trampoline and swings. The third closest to the house is the family area and twins area.

We love our garden and that is why my G word had to be Garden.

I had a few words to choose from, fun, family and food came up. But them after looking at my photographs of the last week there was one F word that has been photographed the most this week.

I was looking for a photograph that fulfilled Expressions when I remembered these photographs from the weekend and decided on a different word.

EXPLORERS

At the weekend while the hubby was working in the front garden the children became curious with the willow and were trying to look through the leaves.

This gave me an idea!

I got some gardening tools and set to work cutting them a doorway. They now have a little den! They spent such a long time exploring their new play area in the front garden.

So this week they are my little explorers!

Alphabet Project - D

D, this is an easy one for me this week.

D is for...

DOTTY

This adorable ball of fur is going to be our new addition when she can leave her mother in 3 weeks. We are all so excited about her, she has really taken our hearts already!

So between now and 3 weeks we are going to be busy getting ready for her arrival. As she is only next door I am sure we will see more of her before then. So far I have made numerous phone calls to vets getting prices for everything, looking for pet insurance and even checking out food. Before we committed I wanted to make sure that we could afford everything that she'll need. When we knew that we could we said yes. 

Life will be busy for me during the day with the twins and a kitten but it'll be fun.
