A Better Nights Sleep with Pukka

Pukka Herbs are products that both the hubby and I love. So when I saw that they produced a natural night time sleep aid I was curious to see what they were like.

I often find that mid afternoon I feel tired but when it comes to bed time I am simply not ready for bed. After the busy evening of dinner, clearing up, getting the children to bed, doing some work and watching television, when bed time arrives my mind is active and not ready to sleep. I have tried other sleep aid tablets in the past but am not a fan of chemical ones. I prefer to have herbal remedies if possible as I have found that chemical sleep aids can effect my mornings and not for the better.

Getting A Good Night Sleep - What Food and Drink Is Good!

If you have a young family, like we do, you will know that a good nights sleep is paramount. Ok, we don't always get a full nights sleep and a full nights sleep is rare. But what we eat and drink can effect on how well we sleep. If we follow these simple steps we can be sure that we are doing what we can to get a good nights sleep. I found these tips on BBC Good Food.

Food and Drink to Avoid

There are some food and drinks that you should avoid if you want a healthy nights sleep. If you cut the following out 2 - 3 hours before bedtime the better:
  • Coffee
  • Carbonated drinks containing caffeine
  • Black or green tea as they contain caffeine
  • Avoid eating too late or too close to bedtime. If you go to bed feeling full you are more likely to have a disturbed night due to heartburn or indigestion.
  • Wine, cheese and chocolate can cause the brain to be over stimulated

Word of the Week - Sleep!

This weeks word of the week has to be...

SLEEP

When I decided on my word last night I may have tempted fate as Taylor was awake at 4am this morning. But I am still going with sleep as they have done so well this week.

Let's start with Saturday, the twins first night away.

I was amazed when we got the message saying "they're asleep!" before 8pm. When I rang my mum I couldn't believe that they had both gone to sleep so easily. We were over the moon when we were told that they had both slept a whopping 11 hours. We were so proud of them for doing so well.

We were even happier when the good nights sleep carried on once they were home. This last week has to be the best sleep that we have had in the past 25 months. That is why I have chosen the word sleep as my word of the week.

I am joining in with The Reading Residence's Word of the Week pop over and see what other words have come up this week.

Word of the Week - Attachment

When I started to think about what my word of the week would be I kept coming back to the same word.

That is...

ATTACHMENT

This word is for my little man, Taylor.

Taylor is and always has been a mummy's boy.

Please don't get me wrong, I love Taylor being a mummy's boy and the attachment is on both sides.
I have always, up until this last week, got Taylor to sleep. He would not go to his daddy or anyone else.

Now that the twins are 25 months old we have started to try and get them to go to sleep in their cots instead of being cuddled to sleep as we have done until now.

I did the same with Joseph. I cuddled him to sleep until he was two and a half and he always came into bed with me until he was three. I did say that I wouldn't do this with the twins. But I find that cuddling the babies to sleep is a great bonding time and a time that I have treasured. However, they are getting older and I know that we need to change how we do the bedtime routine.

We started putting the twins in their cots but Taylor just would not go to sleep for me. He did everything that he could to play, make me giggle and just would not settle for me. He'd lay in bed and sing, shout "Mummy, where are oooo?", blow raspberries, play hidey boo, anything to not go to sleep!

However for hubby, he does mess around but after he has been told to stop he does!

So we swapped twins. I took over getting Isabella to sleep while the hubby took Taylor.

However, me just being in the room, made Taylor want to play and do anything to get my attention.
That is why hubby suggested that I take a step back and let him get them both to sleep.

Isabella has got it cracked bless her. She will lay down and get herself to sleep.

Taylor is the difficult one!

The first night he sobbed and sobbed and shouted "Mummy, Mummy, Mummy". It broke my heart to say good night and walk away. But I did. I stood at the bottom of the stairs and was in tears, my heart was pulling me to go back but my head was telling me not to.

The cord was being cut even more. My baby is growing and not really a baby anymore. I miss the babies that they were but am loving the toddlers that they are becoming.

Over the last week, the crying has got less and getting them to sleep is getting quicker. It has got easier for me too. I do still stand at the bottom of the stairs listening when I hear him cry but I do feel happier that he is settling easier.

Tomorrow is another big, no not big, it is a HUGE step for the twins, and the hubby and I.

The three children are going to my mum and dad's for the night.

The twins have never had a night away from us since they left hospital after being born and being in NICU for 12 days.

This will be the first night that someone else has put them to bed and they have not been with us. I know that the hubby and I are probably worried and nervous over nothing. I am sure that the twins will be fine. Luckily my parents only live down the road, so just in case we are needed, we are not going out, but will have a nice meal and a bottle of wine at home. We are just hoping that they settle and that we can enjoy a full nights sleep and a lie in!

Even though the bedtime attachment is not like it was, my little boy still remains a mummy's boy and always will be! (I hope!)

My Poor Back - A Rant

Well I have to admit that the run of disturbed nights, lack of sleep and poorly children really is starting to take it's toll.
It is my poor back that is taking the brunt end of it!
9 years ago I had an accident that resulted in me fracturing the lumbar section of my back which was fused together with metal work. I count myself extremely lucky that I can walk at all. At one point during my hospital recovery I was given 50/50 odds of recovering. I do not suffer much with my back but I do take care.
Well most of the time I do anyway!
I tend to forget that I even had my accident. That's how normal my back feels.
However if I lift something or someone in an awkward way or sleep in the wrong position I can easily pull it or aches can develop.
This happened a couple of weeks ago. I got over it but then we had our first night in the first caravan on holiday. In the first bed we could feel each and every spring in the non existent mattress. This was destined to cause me problems. It would cause anyone problems it was that bad!
I did spend the week taking pain killers to dull the ache. But I was so thankful that we had moved to a better caravan which had a bed that was 100 times better.
The aches were starting to get better come the end of our holiday.
Then the bug struck!
We have had a run of 2 weeks now of disturbed nights and co-sleeping happening most nights.
I find when we have either twin in with us I end up balancing on the edge of the bed so that they have room and to keep them away from hubby so that he gets a good nights sleep. He is the one that needs to drive to work in the morning and do a full days work which includes a lot of driving so he needs to have enough sleep. Whereas I can manage with the lack of sleep. If I am honest I think that I have just got used to disturbed nights. Since the twins were born we have not had many full nights. We have had a couple of good runs where we have had 2 or 3 weeks where they have both slept through. But on a normal night if it's not one waking it's the other. Hence calling them our tag team! Thankfully, they do take it in turns.
We'll get there, I know sleep will return, one day!
Anyway, as I was saying, balancing on the edge of the bed has certainly not helped my back. Along with shovelling wet heavy hay when I  clean the chickens out!
Tonight I am just feeling a bit sorry for myself.
I'm tired, my back hurts and I wanted a good moan!
So, sorry for the rant, as I've said before I often see my blog as a counsellor!
Sleep is beckoning me as I type and a good nights sleep is definitely what I need.
Whether I'll get it is a different matter completely!
Tomorrow is a busy baking day!
As it is bonfire night hubby has asked for some traditional bonfire food. Therefore I am trying 2 new things. I am going to have a go at making cider toffee and bake a Yorkshire parkin cake!
So I will be busy as I also need to bake bread as well as the school run, tend to the chickens, look after and play with the twins, do some ironing while they sleep, do some laundry, prepare lunch, collect Joseph and cook tea!
Busy, busy, busy, but hey that's my life and I wouldn't change it for the world!
Ok, I'd love more sleep but we can't have it all!
Good night.

What a Day!

Today has been so busy,  now I am feeling well and truly frazzled!
I have got, just about, everything that I wanted to today done.
This afternoon the twins have been nothing but mischief!
Isabella has been doing things she knows she's not to do. Instead of being sneaky about it, she'll do it and shout mum as if to say look at me!
At one point I said "Are you going to do as you are told?" To which she, quite honestly said giggling "no!"
That told me!
Taylor has just been his usual climbing self. He has developed the male trait of selective hearing. I have lost count how many times I've told him no or told him to stop and it has fallen on deaf ears!
I am just exhausted today and am so glad to be sat down with a glass of wine!
Also my new toy has arrived.
I have, at last, had my phone upgraded!
So I have a shiny new phone to learn how to use.
Well that's another day done and bed time has quickly come round.
Fingers crossed we have a good night, it's been a while since I had a full night.
Here's hoping.
Night night x

At Last A Good Night!

At last a full nights sleep!
I have got to say, the twins have more than redeemed themselves. They not only slept all night, they also slept in until 7am!
That never happens!
I couldn't believe it when I looked at the clock.
Today we have got a few things to do but not much.
At the moment I am watching Joseph swimming!
Yes I am multi tasking!
I am watching and blogging. Admittedly, normally, I just blog but this week Joseph has moved from the intermediate group into the advanced group. I can see a huge improvement in his swimming. He is doing so well and I am sat here grinning with pride!
After swimming I am going to do a spot of scrumping! I am making some fresh strawberry and plum jam this morning. I have the strawberries but need to get some plums. Luckily my parents have an abundance of plums in their orchard!
We are also having a visit from the Reverend who will be Christening the twins next weekend. I cannot believe how quick it has come round. I never did manage to get the invitations done after all. So, as it is only family that are coming, I sent everyone a message as an invite. Money saved there! My job this week will be organising the catering. We are going to do the catering between both mums and myself. A light buffet of sandwiches, sausage rolls, salad and cakes won't cost too much. Just writing this, I can feel myself getting excited, it is going to be a lovely special day!
This afternoon my challenge is going to be making my first suet pudding. Hubby has requested a jam roly poly. Hence why I am making some fresh jam this morning!
I an looking forward to our regular Saturday night with my parents, who get home from their holiday today. I am very close to my parents and miss them a lot when they go away!
This is our plan for the day, along with play time with the kids and the odd house and garden job for good measure!
Happy weekend everyone!

A Very Long Night!

I have finally stopped!
I haven't wanted to stop today just in case I would crash.
Last night was the worst night in a long time.
The twins started at 11pm and were unsettled for the night. If it wasn't one it was the other! Our little tag team were a force that beat us both last night!
We saw every single hour apart from 5am!
So today, as I always do when tired, I have not stopped!
I have twin proofed the living room a bit more. I have taken away the play table. It has never been a play table for the twins. It has always been more of a climbing frame. So it has gone!
The DVD shelf in the corner is now the twins book shelf!
Now you see why "Hijacked by Twins" is so appropriate!
They have taken over!!!
I have also had fun decorating some yummy purple buns that I have baked as well as ironing, hovering, washing, playing, feeding and school run!
It is now that I have dared to actually stop.
Hubby will be home soon and then it'll be wine o'clock which I am ready for!
As it is Friday it is our date night!
Film, wine, cheese and some time out from being mum and dad.
As long as the kids sleep that is!
Here's hoping we have a better night tonight!

Sleepless Nights Return!

Oh well, the bliss of full nights sleep has passed and sleepless nights have returned.
The twins have more teeth on the way and are so unsettled. When Taylor opens his mouth his poor little gums are so swollen at the back where the dreaded molars are trying to cut through. It is going to be a long haul, he is only on his first molar!
Isabella cut all four of her molars without any fuss. She is a typical girl, she just gets on with it. She has cut her teeth and we have only known about them when we have seen them. However she is currently cutting incisors on both sides and is feeling it a bit. She has turned from a cheery little girl into a little grump!
Taylor has struggled with each and every tooth. He has only just cut his seventh tooth so we've got a way to go yet but this molar seems to be taking forever. He's then got three more molars to come after that plus three other teeth to even catch up with Isabella!
I was just enjoying getting used to actually getting some sleep. I'll be used to not having as much sleep after a couple of nights but in the meantime I'll stick with my good friend, caffeine, who will help me through the day!

Proud Twin Mummy Moment

To many this will not seem like a big deal, but other twin parents will get why I feel so proud!
I managed to get both babies to sleep in their cots last night!
Since we started to put the twins to sleep without cuddles hubby has been getting them settled one at a time. But last night I put Taylor into his cot before Isabella was asleep. They both share a bedroom so they need to be able to get to sleep together. I wasn't sure how Taylor would settle for me as he is used to my cuddles to get to sleep. Luckily Taylor usually starts on his left side which means he is facing the wall. So I said good night, laid him down and waited for him to stand back up and shout to be picked up.
But he didn't.
He just laid there. He did look for me once, so I sat next to his cot and put my arm through the bars and placed my hand on his back so he knew that I was close. He swung his arm behind his back and rested it on my hand and went to sleep! After a few minutes I gradually took my hand off his back and out of the cot!
I had done it, Taylor had done it! He had got to sleep on his own, with no cuddles!!
Isabella on the other hand was still awake for her daddy so hubby left the room for me to have a go. She did stand up a couple of times but I didn't give in. I just laid her back down and put my hand on her like I did with Taylor. Unlike Taylor, Isabella kept looking for me, so I kept looking down trying not to make eye contact. If you make eye contact with Isabella she will launch into a conversation with you! Her little voice is so cute I wouldn't be able to ignore her so I kept looking away. It did take longer, but in the end, she too was fast asleep!
I do not know if it is a coincidence but the last two nights that Taylor has settled himself to sleep he has slept right through. Same with Isabella, she has always been a good little sleeper though.
I do feel that we have accomplished something by getting the twins to settle themselves. I was dreading breaking the settling with cuddles habit as I thought it would be harder than it has been. I am sure that we will have hard nights to come but for now I will enjoy a good, full nights sleep!

My Babies Are Growing Too Fast

I am coming to the realisation that my babies are not babies anymore!
They are growing and developing at such a rate.
They are growing too quick.
Since the twins arrived home we have always given them their bedtime bottle and cuddled them to sleep. I am not a fan of self soothing, I know other people who it has worked for, but it is not for me.
I did the same with Joseph and cuddled him to sleep and co-slept with Joseph until he was nearly 3. But at that time it was just the two of us.
I have always loved our bedtime routine, I have always enjoyed the quality time that we have. But I also know, deep down, that we need to move on at some point.
I wasn't expecting it just yet!
A couple of nights ago, Isabella was so hot she would not settle with hubby so he decided to see how she would settle in her cot. I will admit that I didn't think that it would work. But to my amazement, she settled.
The next night she was more awake and it took longer. But my hubby was patient and didn't relent. After a couple of moans from Isabella she went to sleep! I am so proud of her, she has done so well! But Taylor, who always goes to sleep with me, would be harder!
Hubby disagreed with me so last night I let him try.
If I am honest I thought that he would cry for me and wouldn't settle. It pains me to say that I was wrong!
Hubby got him settled without me!
I feel as if the cord has been cut a little bit more. My boy doesn't need my cuddles to go to sleep. I am so proud of him but I also look at all three of them and think
"please slow down growing, stay small"
But I know that I must let all three of them grow and flourish. It is my job to nurture, protect and guide them.
Letting go and allowing them the room to grow is hard but in order to be a "good" mum to them I will do this.
I will just make sure that we have a couple more cuddles in the day.
When they let me that is!

A Day of Ups and Downs

Today started so well!
We were woken up by hubby's alarm clock and not the twins!
Yes, you have read that right, the twins actually slept until 6:55am!
We all had a lie in and it was divine. Just having an extra hours sleep was pure bliss. Fingers crossed as the sunrise gets later we will have more lie ins to come.
This morning was the twins bath morning. Whoever baths the twins normally ends up just as wet as they are. This morning was no exception. They certainly lived up to their expectation. Now that they are bigger I am able to bath them together which not only saves me time but they thoroughly enjoy competing to see who can splash the most.
This morning I could literally wring out my top! Isabella, as normal, started the splashing off. The more she splashed the more Taylor giggled and the more he splashed. Which resulted in lots of giggles and a soaked mummy and Joseph. Not to mention a dripping door and a puddle on the floor. For me, bath time is also a time that we can spend quality time together with no interruptions from the television.
After bath time it was was time to visit our chickens or "bock bocks" as Isabella calls them after the noise they make. She is just adorable, as we walk down the garden she knows where we are going and says "bock bocks" all the way until we get there.
All in all, we had a lovely morning, but this afternoon's appointment was looming!
Today I had to return to the dreaded dentist. After my check up last week I was told I needed work doing and today was the day it was being done.
It is just sods law, the first check up after my maternity exemption expires and I need to pay, work needs to be done.
I am a complete wimp when it comes to dental work. Especially if I need to have an injection.
I felt physically sick while I sat waiting to be called. Then I heard my name. I made my way up the stairs to the room where I was going to face one of my fears. As I sat in the chair waiting for the dreaded anaesthetic injection I was close to tears I am surprised I managed to keep it together. But I did, I kept my tears in. Just!
When I left the dentist, with my mouth still numb, I went to find my mum and the kids in the park. I got questions from Joseph about what was wrong, what I'd had done, why my mouth looked funny and so on. I've got to admit I did enjoy being able to say
"This is what happens if you do not look after your teeth"
All of the stress from this afternoon left me with not just a sore mouth, but a banging headache, which does not go well with toddler twins.
Thankfully after a couple of pain killers, a relaxed bedtime with the twins and some tv time with hubby my head is getting better and the day is finishing well.

Tired Eyes

Well our little tag team were at it again last night.
It has been a few days since we have been up and down in the night. It all started at about 1:30am, from then on, if it wasn't one in bed with us, it was the other. Then little man was ready for up at 5:30!
So here I am. My first coffee is all gone, Taylor's milk is all gone and its not even 6:30 yet!
Having tired eyes is not a great start to the day as I am having an optical eye test this morning. I have worn glasses for a few years now. When I was at work I wore them as I should but since becoming a stay at home mum they have become more of a fashion accessory than anything else! However the last few weeks I have noticed that I am putting them on more and more because I feel that I need them on. So we will see what the damage is today.
In the past I have chosen expensive, designer glasses. I love the frames I have got at the moment and would love to keep them. But this time I am going to have to look for not just a stylish pair that suit me but also a pair that we can afford. Now that I am not working I know to stay clear of my usual section.
Todays challenge is to walk out of the opticians, for the first time ever, feeling like I have got a bargain and happy with what I have got.
Fingers crossed....

Going To Be A Long Day

Oh I've got a feeling Im going to feel it today.
My lovely Taylor woke up at 4:15 this morning! So I've had a total of 5 hours sleep. Thank goodness for coffee.
We have recently had a good run of full nights sleep. When I say a good run, we had a week of full nights, which is great for these two.
As I write I can feel the coffee working its wonder, I'll be ok!
Joseph has got a busy morning today. He is having a couple of hours at the leisure centre. In the summer holidays they do activity sessions. He tried them last year and loved it. As soon as the schedule was released he was more than keen to get his name down. This morning is Gladiator Camp. The session runs during the twins nap time so I should be able to get an hours peace and quiet. That is if I can resist the pile ironing that is sat waiting for me. It is unbelievable the amount of washing and ironing that 5 people make!
But hey, this is my life and even with the lack of sleep, piles of laundry, I wouldn't change a thing.

Will Sleep Ever Return?

This post is going to be a bit of a rant and a moan Im afraid.
I am just so tired! Since having the twins 17 months ago sleep, as we knew it, has gone out of the window. Yes, we do get more than we did, but to get a block of 8 hours sleep would be such a luxury. At the moment I am managing to get a maximum of 6 hours, not always in a block and that's on a good night, which I can manage on for so long but then I have a day like today and just feel shattered. During the week I have found the more I keep busy the less tired I feel. I know it sounds crackers but it does actually work! Im probably feeling like this because I am sat at the pool while Joseph has his swimming lesson, its warm and I've stopped. I am just feeling so drained and feel like I could sleep for a day. I don't remember feeling so sleep deprived when Joseph was a baby/toddler and please don't get me wrong the twins are good sleepers I just wish that they would both have a good nights sleep at the same time instead of taking it in turns to be up and down. However I do feel that some of the blame does lay with me, as I get up as soon as I hear either of them. I am not a fan of self soothing and could never leave them to cry but I am also aware that we have 3 children and I don't want them waking each other up or hubby up when he has to go to work. So I'd rather have disturbed sleep than everyone else being up. The nights wouldn't be so bad if they slept in but they are up at the crack of dawn, which at the moment tends to be about 5am!
I know it will get better and that Im obviously just feeling it today, I just can't wait until sleep returns!

What a Long Night & Busy Morning

Oh what a night we've just had, I must have known! At the end of last nights post I said "I hope they don't give us hell tonight". They didn't give us hell but she did bless her.
Isabella woke up at 11:45pm and that was it up and down all night with a temperature. She wouldn't settle in her cot so she spent the night in our bed. As hubby has to go to work today I told him to go and get some sleep downstairs. So it was me and little lady. She did manage to get to sleep, I on the other hand, kept waking to check on her so am feeling it today. Since having the twins I have become used to sleep deprivation.
Then it was up bright and early to sort the kiddies and ice some ice cream cone cakes for Joseph to take to school. I have got to say I am feeling quite proud of the end result :-)

Mummy & Taylor Time

After having the twins I soon discovered how hard it was dividing my time up to spend quality time with each child individually. So whenever I get the chance to enjoy some one to one time with any of them I feel very lucky and cherish the moments. Even when that time is a 5:50am!
Yes I have not made a typing error, that does say 5:50am!
This morning our early birds were wanting to get out of their cots at just gone 5 this morning. Once Taylor is awake it's time to get up, it's not very often he will snuggle up and go back to sleep, unlike his sister. So at 5:40 we were up. I was just going to get him his usual morning milk when I noticed that the milk had started to go bad, even though I only opened it yesterday and it was well in date! This is a nightmare as both kiddies love their morning milk. For once I was actually thankful that Taylor had woken up so early. So we got ready to go on a little outing at the crack of dawn for some milk, just me and my littlest boy!
We got dressed and off we went, I chatted and sang to him in the car and and when we went for the milk I gave had him all of my attention. It was half an hour that filled my heart with love.
When we got home hubby was up with Isabella and looking out of the window for us with a smile and a wave. Yes it is great spending individual time with the children but I certainly am at my happiness when I've got them all running around with my hubby by my side.

Manic Monday

Manic Monday seems a fitting title  to describe our day yesterday.
The day started really well. I got so many jobs done. By 9:30 the kids were all bathed or showered, dishwasher and washing machine were on, we'd does the school run, cleaned and fed the chickens and watered the vegetables. I was on a roll!
But them the whirlwind that is Taylor struck! Arrr, he suddenly remembered he knew how to climb! He was on everything! The more he climbed the more fun it became and the more I took him down the more he chuckled! The more he chuckled the more intrigued Isabella became in what he was doing and before I knew it she too was attempting to climb. Thankfully, yesterday, she only got as far as one leg up, got bored of trying, and found a pair of shorts to put on as a hat!
The day flew by in a haze of running around after the twins yesterday and before we knew it bed time had arrived. Time for a break and spend some much needed time out with hubby.
Taylor after all of his climbing expeditions was out like a light but Isabella didn't have such a good evening and had tummy ache. This meant if it wasn't me with her it was hubby as all she wanted was to be close. In the end, at our bedtime, hubby managed to get her into her cot, at last we had a break, but sleep beckoned so that was our time gone. Luckily we don't have as many evenings like this as we used to and have got to the point where the children go to bed really well and we get some time together.

Spoke Too Soon - Bad Nights Sleep (or should I say lack of)

This morning it feels as though I jinxed our good nights sleep by bragging about how well the twins have been sleeping.
Last night they were not their usual tag team duo, they tortured us by working in unison!
We usually find that its either one or the other that's up but its rarely  both of them.
Isabella started at about 11:30pm and from then on I was up and down. At 2am I got her settled but as Id creep out she'd pop her head up to check if I was still there, sneaky little Miss! So I started to leave gradually and foolishly thought that she was fast asleep I did a quick dash to the toilet, which was a huge mistake! She must have looked up and seen I wasn't there and that was it, we had tears and the hubby was up. During the week I jump up as soon as either of them make a peep so they do not wake him up. Unfortunately for him Isabella had other ideas. As soon as she knows Daddy is around he is all she wants. So hubby lost some sleep too. Then it was Taylor's turn. Luckily when Taylor wakes up he tends to snuggle up and go back to sleep cuddled up, which he did. After an hour I got Taylor back in his cot and took Isabella off hubby so he could get some sleep. Well that was the plan anyway. I managed to get Isabella to settle after hearing her pull out her dummy and say "hi" various times. Then it was Taylor's turn again, as I had Isabella poor hubby had to get up to him.
So this morning when we woke up there were 4 in the bed, well 2 toddlers spread eagle in the middle of the bed and 2 parents half on and half off the ends of the bed. Co-sleeping with toddler twins is not the most comfortable way to spend the night.
Fingers crossed we get a break tonight!

The Twins Sleep In - its a miracle!!!

Wow what a hot weekend we have had!
Joseph has loved the weather and has enjoyed a spot of sunbathing, running underneath the sprinkler and playing on his new swing, what a hard life these kids have!
The twins have not enjoyed feeling so hot. The heat has resulted in a very grumpy Taylor thankfully Isabella has been her usual funny self and making us all laugh.
However, on the plus side, the twins have amazed us by actually sleeping really well in the heat. This morning we were astounded to see that when we woke up it was nearly 7 o'clock. Believe me there are have not been many mornings in the last 16 months that this has happened.
We heard Isabella playing in her cot at 6:45 but not a peep from our usual early bird Taylor. Bless him he was flat out until I woke him at 7!
So this morning I have twins that are full of energy and running around the lounge squealing at each other.
That has to be one of my favourite sounds!
