Don't you just love it when you can cook a complete meal in just one pot! Since I started using the Pressure King Pro that I received to review it has become an invaluable piece of cooking equipment. It makes cooking one pot meals so quick and easy and we all know that in a busy household this can be a lifesaver!
One of our favourite meals that is made in the Pressure King Pro has to be pasta dishes. When the pasta has been cooked with the other ingredients it is so full of flavour and gives you a really rich dish. This recipe is perfect for the Pressure King Pro or any Instapot but can also be easily made in a pan.
This is what I did...
All in One Spaghetti Bolognese
Ingredients
500g lean minced beef
1 onion, chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
1 carrot, chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed,
250g mushrooms, chopped
300g dried spaghetti, broken into smaller pieces
1 x 400g tin of chopped tomatoes
250mls beef stock
2tbsp tomato puree
Method
Pressure King Pro/Instapot Method
1 - Set the pressure cooked on the stew function and gently brown off the minced beef with the onions
2 - Once the meat has been browned off add the red pepper, carrot, mushrooms and garlic and heat for a couple of minutes
3 - Add the chopped tomatoes, beef stock and spaghetti pieces to the pot, place the lid on the top and select meat function and cook for 20 minutes
4 - Once the pressure cooker has finished, release the steam, remove the lid and stir in the tomato puree then serve
Pan Method
1 - Using a large pan gently brown off the mince with the onions
2 - After 5 minutes add the red pepper, carrot, mushrooms and garlic, cook for a further 5 minutes
3 - Add the chopped tomatoes, beef stock and spaghetti pieces and bring to the boil
4 - Once the sauce has reached boiling point, reduce the heat, cover the pan and simmer for 20 minutes, checking regularly and add more liquids if required
5 - Once the spaghetti is soft and the sauce thickened stir in the tomato puree and serve
Using the pressure cooker has really made life easier on busy evenings. Cooking the pasta within the sauce creates a delicious meal which is perfect with grated Parmesan cheese over the top and garlic bread on the side.
