Wow what a week!
You have probably noticed that on the social media front things have been very quiet. This is due to us going on holiday for a week and discovering that we have absolutely no signal in the village that we were in. We did get the odd signal while out and about but had a real break from everything online. I did miss it a lot but at the same time the break has done me good. Now that we are back I am raring to go again!
Last week I did a shorter round up of our week, therefore this week is is slightly longer.
Here is our holiday week in pictures...

Saturday 15th August 2015
After a good nights sleep we went to the village to explore what there was. We found an amazing little deli and coffee shop, Quarmby's, which became our daily call in point for lovely coffees and matcha lattes! This picture was taken on the walk to the deli for coffee. As it was so quiet the three children loved being able run ahead! On Saturday we visited Yorkshire Lavender Farm which was a lovely place to walk around.
Sunday 16th August 2015
On Sunday we went for a walk around the gardens at Castle Howard. These were so beautiful and we could have easily spent a lot more time there than we did.
Monday 17th August 2015
On Tuesday we visited the Black Sheep Brewery and met up with my sister in law and her husband which was lovely. We all enjoyed a delicious lunch and of course tasted what Black Sheep had to offer! After lunch we ventured further north to the Forbidden Corner. After going to an underground area Isabella was a bit scared so the hubby took the twins and his mother to the cafe while Joseph and I enjoyed a bit of time together just the two of us discovering the magical gardens.
Tuesday 18th August 2015
Wednesday was an absolute wash out so we decided to visit the National Railway Museum in York. We later went for a wet walk around the city centre before having a meal.
Wednesday 19th August 2015
Thankfully on Wednesday the rain had stopped. On Wednesday we went for a drive in the country and ended up at Ampleforth Abbey which was such a beautiful tranquil place, until the twins descended! However, joking aside, even with the madness that comes with our family it was such a peaceful place in such a stunning area.
Thursday 20th August 2015
On Thursday we visited a place that the hubby and I have wanted to visit for a long time. We went over to Harrogate and went to RHS Harlow Carr. While we were there we also became RHS members. We have decided that we are going to set aside a weekend a month to spending more time out together as a family and have more days out. We cannot wait to have more time to discover the amazing Harlow Carr.
Friday 21st August 2015
On Friday, after we returned home, we went out and went car shopping. After having the 7 seater for the holidays we have realised that we do need more space in our family car. All of Fridays pictures were of financial details. Instead of sharing those details I have decided to share a quote that I saw at the Abbey which I think is a great one to remember.
Saturday 22nd August 2015
Saturday has been all about a new car! After test drives, negotiations and a long day we decided to buy a car just like this one. This is the car that we had a test drive in but have bought a brand new car which I cannot wait to get. It will be like this one but black!
As always I am sharing with...
awwww Kirsty what a lovely holiday you have all had. I think it would be nice to get away completely from all things social media , although hard aswelll! at least the weather did not ruin your time away (and the is meant to be summer!)

ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great holiday. Lots of different activities to appeal to the different age ranges.
ReplyDeleteI am jealous of the new car, I really wish I had that sort of money ( or could commit to that sort of financial uptaking) My daughter loves her 7 seater, but with 4 kids she has no choice.
Ah we were on holiday this week, too, and it was great! Your pictures are gorgeous, I love that view in Wednesday's picture.
