Dotty's Yearbook with Whiskas

Today I am sharing with you a post that is a little different from usual. Today I am sharing with you a post about our cat. Family and friends often refer to us as the good life family as we grow our own vegetables and have a lot of animals. We are out numbered by animals, we own 3 chickens, 2 rabbits, 2 dogs, 1 hamster and our dear little cat, Dotty. So when the leading cat food brand, Whiskas, got in contact and asked if I would like to share a year book style collage of Dotty I thought it would be a lot of fun.

Dotty is the first cat that we have had and we simply could not have asked for a softer, more loving cat. We got her as a kitten two years ago when the twins were two so both Dotty and the twins have grown together therefore there is a strong bond between them. We often find Dotty asleep in the twins bedroom either on the floor or alternating between their beds. She really is a valued member of the family.

Whiskas have started their Kitten Kollage campaign to celebrate the joy of owning a cat and the pleasure that they bring to our lives. They have developed a You Tube channel which specialises in educating people on how to care for their kittens and also inspires owners with their videos that have been set up in a mock college environment. The videos are not only informative but are also great fun and the kittens are the cutest! After watching a few of the videos I did get sentimental about the kitten days and spent most of the morning looking through pictures of Dotty from the first day that we met her. I have selected just a few of my favourite shots to create a Dotty memory post...

9th March - 15th March 2015 - One Picture Everyday For One Year

This week has been a bit up and down. I started the week not feeling well. But thankfully I soon felt better but being poorly knocked my mood a bit and had a few down days. But by Thursday I started to pick up again.

Here is our week in pictures...

Monday 9th March 2015

Monday I was not feeling well but I did manage to do a bit of baking. I baked this delicious Everyday Brew Tea Loaf. Baking is the one thing that I lost interest in during my dark days but I have started to enjoy doing it again. This is something which I am thankful for, as is my husband, because I loved baking and found it relaxing to do. So keep your eyes out for more yummy bakes!

Tuesday 10th March 2015

On Tuesday we were finally able to take Opie out for a walk as she is now protected by her vaccinations. What made it even better was that Tuesday was a glorious spring day. The twins and I enjoyed a lovely walk down the fields next to our house. It was while we were walking down there that I  realised how grateful I am that we live in the countryside and have this right next to our house!

Wednesday 11th March 2015

On Wednesday we all went to pick Joseph up from school. The hubby had finished work early so we even took Opie with us. However on our way there the rain started, but it did not put us off. We ended up walking home the long way, through the park and over the fields. It was muddy, wet and cold but was still lovely. Wednesday was a down day, but this walk worked wonders!

Thursday 12th March 2015

On Thursday I took Opie to the RSPCA to visit her sister to see how they would get on. After a successful visit I was told that I could take Jax home. Which I did! Jax is a very nervous little pup, who still needs to put weight on and bulk out. At the moment she is a lot quieter than Opie and is wanting to be close and have love. But as it was pointed out to me, in the past she probably hasn't had a lot of love so it is all new to her. They both do play fight a lot, but like the twins, they don't like being too far from each other.

Friday 13th March 2015

Friday was a manic day keeping eyes on both the twins and puppies! Jax has got an upset tummy from the move so she has required extra watching and house training has started all over again. However it seems easier second time around as she is a few weeks older. I finished the day baking this delicious sugar free, yes sugar calorie free, cake. Which was delicious! I will be posting the recipe next week!

Saturday 14th March 2015

Saturday was a smiley sort of day. Joseph and I went out just the two of us to do some jobs. He was treated to a McDonald's while I had some sushi. We returned home and then went out all five of us. It really was a lovely family day.

Sunday 15th March 2015

This morning I was treated to a lie in and woken by excited twins who came running in shouting "Happy Mothers Day!". It was a lovely way to be woken, with hugs and kisses and a cup of tea. This year the children chose their own presents for me. Joseph got me a lovely soft teddy bear, Isabella chose me a bouquet of chocolate roses and Taylor chose me a heart tin of Lindt chocolates. The hubby also chose me a present, he got me the Delicious Ella book which I am looking forward to reading.

Today may be mothers day but days like today make me even more thankful for my family. Without my three babies and my hubby there wouldn't be a Mothers Day. So when I have got this post published I will be spending quality time with the people that I love the most!

I hope you all have a lovey day x

2nd March - 8th March 2015 - One Picture Everyday For One Year

Another week and another month has gone! We have welcomed March with a lovely spring feeling week. It has been a welcomed sight to see the sun shining, the children playing in the garden and washing blowing on the line!

This week has been a busy one with lots of plans coming together. You can read more about our plans in my Word of the Week post.

Here is our week in pictures...

Monday 2nd March 2015

Monday was a glorious day for out door play. The twins thrive on being outside and love nothing more than getting their wellies and coats on and being in the garden. The three children had fun playing on the trampoline when Joseph got home from school.

Tuesday 3rd March 2015

On Tuesday I took Opie back the the RSPCA centre where we got her from for her final vaccination. All of the staff were delighted to see how well she was. While I was there I asked about the other pups from her litter. I was told that all but three of them had been adopted. The hubby and I have been talking about getting a play mate for Opie. I said that I would only get another puppy from the same litter. So when they told me that they still had some I went to have a look and was greeted my this sad little face. Yes, you have guessed it, we are going to adopt this little lady! The pups are on antibiotics at the moment for a tummy bug so I couldn't introduce Opie yet. However, fingers crossed, on Tuesday they will get the all clear from the vet so we can arrange a time to take Opie over to meet her sister again. If all goes well on that visit we will be bringing her home.

Wednesday 4th March 2015

Wednesday was all about planning our extension. This is our project of the year and hope to finish the year with an extra bedroom and a lovely, large open plan kitchen and living area.

Thursday 5th March 2015

Another garden day. This picture was taken as I was trying to round the twins up to come inside for their tea. Believe me, getting them in is a battle!

Friday 6th March 2015

On Friday we took an unexpected visit to the vets with Opie. I noticed that she started limping on Thursday after playing outside. On Friday it seemed worse and she was yelping when her paw was touched. As it was a last minute appointment the twins came along too. They were so good! I was amazed by how big and grown up they looked as they sat on the chairs in the waiting room. Thankfully Opie is ok, she has just pulled a ligament from pulling her claw.

Saturday 7th March 2015

Saturday was a down day for me. Since Friday I have been getting shivery and felt generally down. There is nothing to pin point but I just feel like my body is fighting something off! So Saturday was a relaxing day. The hubby painted the twins play house and started work on the new path up the garden, while I was staining wood in the sunshine.

Word of the Week - 13th February 2015

This weeks Word of the Week is...

Little Opie came home yesterday! Her arrival has been all we have thought about all week.

The day finally arrived and the twins and I went to collect her and brought her home. When we arrived home it was time to see what Dotty's reaction was going to be. To start with she kept fluffing up and was very wary and stayed out of the way. I am pleased that this morning she is a lot more herself.

Opie has seemed to settle in straight away and I will admit to being besotted by her, she is just adorable! She has been enjoying a lot of cuddles and fuss. When we put her in the cage for bed she just curled up and went to sleep. However 30 minutes later we could hear her crying and howling. She was gradually getting louder and louder so we both went down to check on her. She had a cuddle and we put her back but the crying and yelping started again. This time we were strong and left her to it and after 10 minutes she stopped and was quiet all night. It was a successful first night!

Opie really has fitted in with our family. It feels like we have got another baby in the house. I am feeding her every 4 hours during the day, chasing around trying to house train her and giving lots of cuddles! It is lovely!
