Love Honey Cake

I know that Valentines day has been and gone but come on, love can happen at any time of the year! It does not have to be Valentines day for you to tell that special someone that you love them or show them acts of affection.

As they always say, the way to a mans heart is through his stomach. The hubby loves cake so I thought that the perfect treat for him would be a quick and easy honey cake, my Love Honey Cake. The best thing about this cake is that is it super quick to make and can be prepared and ready to eat in under 10 minutes! Leaving you plenty of time to spend quality time together!

This is what I did...

Love Honey Cake

Ingredients

100g self raising flour
25g ground almonds
100g honey
100g butter, melted
2 eggs
2 tbsp honey

Method

1 - Place the self raising flour and ground almonds in a bowl

2 - Add the melted butter, 100g honey and eggs

3 - Stir until you have a smooth batter

4 - Place the 2 tablespoons of honey in a microwavable cake mould and spread out on the base

5 - Pour the cake mixture over the top of the honey base and place in the microwave and bake for 3 minutes 30 second (900W)

6 - Carefully tip the cake out onto a place or cake board

You can serve the cake just as it is or if you want to be a bit more romantic you can either use a heart shaped cutter or using a sharp knife cut out a heart shaped cake for your loved one.
