Wednesday Words

This is a quote that I read a couple of weeks ago and one that has stuck with me.

It is a lovely quote from an inspirational woman who recently died aged a great 110 years old.

That lady was Alice Herz-Sommer.

I will admit that until she died I had never heard of her but she was the oldest holocaust survivor.

Her quote is such a lovely way to look at the world.

The way she look at the world is one that we should all try and remember. If she could see life in this way after everything that she had suffered during the war and her time at Theresienstadt concentration camp. Then surely more of us can too!

Even when times are hard, stressful or not as good as they could be, this quote should uplift you. Especially when you remember who it came from and what she went through.

In comparison, having a stressful lunchtime (like today!) with the twins, or having two children screaming at you, or tantrums (yes the terrible twos are upon us) really is not a huge problem. It is just part of them growing up and learning how to manage their moods and emotions. It is hard but I know they will grow out of it!

Anyway I'm starting to babble on!

So here it is, my uplifting quote...

"And life is beautiful,
Love is beautiful,
Nature and music are beautiful.
Everything we experience is a gift,
A present we should cherish and pass on to those we love."
Alice Herz-Sommer

  16. What a wonderful quote. When we get caught up in the daily grind it is difficult to see the bigger picture but I think it is important to stop and think about things in a broader sense. Life is precious and it is worth appreciating. Next time I am having a bad day I will try and remember this x
