Family Time at Prezzo

During the half term last week the children and I met up with my sister and her daughters for a lunch treat at Prezzo. The school holidays gave us the perfect opportunity to get together with the children to enjoy some food.

Prezzo have made family dining even easier and family orientated with their new La Famiglia Feast sharing dish. We, as a family love to sit and eat together and regardless what others have everybody wants to dig in and try other meals which when you are out can be a bit difficult. But Prezzo have created the perfect feast for a family. One large bowl of pasta, side dishes, drinks and even ice cream. One bowl for everyone to share. This is ideal for families and a fantastic way to come together over some delicious food.

All of the dishes are freshly made in Prezzo's open plan kitchen that is complete with a rustic style pizza oven. The atmosphere is so relaxed and an ideal choice for families. My sister and I were there with my 12 year old son, 5 year old twins, 4 year old and 22 month old nieces and were made to feel welcome. Once we had settled down at our table it was time to decide what to eat. Ordering La Famiglia feast makes ordering so much easier. I don't know about your children but ours tend to go for the same thing when eating out or take forever to decide. So the sharing meal makes ordering quicker and simpler. When having La Famiglia sharing feast you will not be short of food or choice. You can select from the following...
  • Starters - Garlic bread
  • Mains - Pasta sharing bowl of Penne Arrabiata, Spaghetti Bolognese, Spaghetti Carbonara or Penne alla Rusticana
  • Sides - Fries, truffle infused fries, mixed salad or rocket salad
  • Dessert - Ice cream, gelato or sorbet
  • Soft drinks

We decided to go for one garlic bread with mozzarella, spaghetti carbonara and a mixed salad. We did not have the bread as a starter we decided to have it as a side order. Once the meal came out we were all amazed by how large the portion was. I had order the La Famiglia Feast for the children and I and my sister had ordered separately for them but realistically as four of the children were 5 and under the family feast would have fed all seven of us.

After I had dished out the pasta I let the children help themselves to the garlic bread and salad which, for us, added to the whole enjoyment of eating out as a family. The pasta was cooked to perfection and if you are dining with anyone who is gluten intolerant then do not worry as Prezzo can make their pastas to be gluten free!

I will admit to hating food waste so did feel guilty when we were not able to finish the sharing bowl of pasta. Thankfully Prezzo also offer a take out menu so they had some take out boxes so when I asked them if we could take the leftovers home it was no problem. This allowed us to take the family eating experience home to the hubby who was at work during the day!

Despite the leftovers we all had clean plates at the end of the meal and all thoroughly enjoyed the food that we had. If anything I felt that the children all ate more and enjoyed the whole dining experience. Personally I like the children to eat the same foods as the adults so found it to make a welcomed change.

After taking the children this half term I have a feeling it is going to become a regular treat during the school holidays. The La Famiglia Feast costs just £30 which, I think, is fantastic value for a family meal that includes drinks and desserts. Even though we had the family feast the children were still given the activity menu mats along with a bucket of crayon to keep them busy. Prezzo gave us a meal to remember and the children created memories eating out with their cousins too!

I said before that we were full, but we all managed to leave some space for dessert. Well it would be rude not to wouldn't it? We were so glad that we did. Choosing which to have was the hard part. We could have two balls of any of the following...
  • Chocolate and sea salt gelato
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Strawberry ice cream
  • Melon and lime sorbet
  • Blood orange sorbet
Thankfully we all chose different combinations so we could try each others!

The twins went for ice cream while J and I went for one gelato and one sorbet. They were all the perfect way to end a meal!

This was more than just food. We enjoyed spending time out as a family with my sister and nieces. The children talked, laughed and shared the dining experience with their cousins. Food has the magical touch of bringing people together. With the La Famiglia Feast from Prezzo you can come together even more!

Enjoy x
