Now I am in total Christmas mode. It is everywhere we look and last week's CookBlogShare was no different. I loved seeing all of the Christmas inspired bakes, drinks and meal ideas. They have got me craving to bake some treats of our own.
Thank you to Mandy from Sneaky Veg for doing a great job hosting. Thank you Mandy I really do appreciate your help!
Last week it was lovely to see the regular blogs back. I really do look forward to seeing what you are going to share and we have got a lovely community of foodies, so thank you for your support. Last week we also had some new foodies join in which was lovely and I sincerely hope to see them joining in again. Time is manic at the moment due to the run up to Christmas but after Christmas I hope to share CookBlogShare even more and hope to grow the community further by sharing more on Google+ and looking into sharing via Instagram! Next year should be a great cooking year!
Anyway back to the round up. I simply could not resist all of the festive bakes so this weeks round up is dedicated to them!
Here are my four favourite recipes from week 21 of CookBlogShare...
First up this week is this intricately decorated and built Gingerbread Houses from Green Gourmet Giraffe. I am always in awe of people who have the time and patience to bake, decorate and construct these delicious houses. One day I may have the time but I do not have the artistic streak for the decoration. These gingerbread houses are just perfect for this time of year!
Next up is this deliciously, moist, lighter alternative to the traditional Christmas cake is this Christmas Carrot Tea Loaf from Sneaky Veg. I do like Christmas cake but I often like a change and this would be the perfect change. I love both carrot cake and tea loaf so can see how well they both went together. With the Christmas spices added in it is sure to make a delicious treat!
The next recipe I chose was Mummy Mishaps Flower Sprout Cake. Yes you did read that right, Jenny has baked this festively spiced cake with the addition of the most traditional Christmas vegetable of all. I really would like to try this recipe and I will be keeping my eye out for flower sprouts!
Finally are these deliciously pretty Gluten Free Christmas Cake Parcels from The Gluten Free Alchemist. These Christmas cakes look so moist and fruity and I adore the modern decoration. These cakes look like perfectly wrapped Christmas presents with a scrumptious inside!
I thought that CookBlogShare was the perfect place to tell you a bit about a culinary bursary that is available to culinary students. Wow, I love the look of the gingerbread house. It's something I too would love to have a go at. We thought about making one for our young niece & nephew when we saw them last week but decided that being so young (2 yr old) they may not like the gingerbread flavour as it can be quite punchy. Perhaps next year.
