I love how cream cheese can transform a recipe and add so much flavour in such an easy way.
What is even better is the different flavours that companies are now adding to the product. Before I go on I want to say that this recipe is in no way sponsored by any brand, I just wanted to share how great they are for adding to pasta dishes!
In this recipe I have used Philadelphia's light cream cheese with spring onion and black pepper. As soon as I saw it I knew that it would be perfect for a mushroom sauce. As you will know I am all for quick and easy meals and this ticks all of the boxes!
It is quick, easy, family friendly and full of flavour.
This is what I did...
Ingredients
400g chestnut mushrooms, sliced
1 medium onion, chopped
6 spring onions, slices
1 x 170g tub of Philadelphia spring onion and black pepper cheese
300g pasta
1tbsp olive oil
Method
1 - Cook the pasta as per instructions
2 - Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan
3 - Add the onions to the pan and cook over a medium heat for 5 minutes or until starting to soften
4 - Add the spring onions and mushrooms and cook for a further 5 minutes
5 - Mix in the cream cheese and stir until the cheese has a sauce consistency
6 - Drain the pasta and serve
This is such a quick and easy meal which is full of flavour. It is perfect for an evening where you know you are going to be busy and need to make something that is simple and will please all the family.
Enjoy x
