Oregano Prawn Spaghetti

When it comes to herbs and spices I like to keep it simple. I like to use the best quality and not over power foods. It is all about finding the natural balance and combining herbs and food. Using herbs and spices can transform a meal if a second.

This recipe is a simple recipe, there are not a large number of ingredients but the go perfectly together and make a deliciously light meal that is not just tasty but is also a healthy meal.

This is what I did...

Oregano Prawn Spaghetti

Ingredients

300g wholegrain spaghetti
150g peeled ready to eat king prawns
1 red onion, quartered and finely sliced
1 red pepper, chopped
50g chopped kale
1/2 tsp pink salt
1 tbps olive oil

Method

1 - Place the spaghetti in a pan of boiling water and simmer for 6 minutes

2 - While the spaghetti is cooking prepare the prawns by placing then in a mixing bowl with the onions, red pepper, oregano, salt and olive oil, mix all of the ingredients together and leave until the spaghetti is ready

3 - After the spaghetti has simmered for 6 minutes add the kale and simmer for 2 minutes

4 - Drain the spaghetti and kale

5 - Heat a large frying pan and add the prawns, onions, red pepper mixture and fry for 3 minutes stirring regularly

6 - Add the spaghetti and kale and continue to cook for a further 2 minutes, continually stirring to prevent any sticking and serve immediately

This is a fantastically quick, easy meal to make and is ideal as a mid week healthy dinner. Not only is it easy but is also full of flavour thanks to the oregano from Schwartz. Did you know that dried herbs contain a more condensed flavour so you do not need to use as much as fresh herbs, plus they stay fresher for longer!

Check out Schwartz for other ideas and recipes that use their wide range of herbs and spices.

Enjoy x

  1. I must use my prawns for this next time! I've never added them to spaghetti before - only in noodles. :) #CookBlogShare
