Word of the Week - 2nd May 2014

There could be a few words which would sum up the feeling of the past week. But I have decided on...

CHALLENGING

So what has been challenging you may ask.

Well my toddler twins have been challenging!

This week they have reduced me to tears after having a few days of the both of them pushing the boundaries, having tantrums, screaming, crying you name it, they've done it this week!

But then we will have laughs and giggles galore! It has been such a roller coaster of emotions.

I know that the toddler years can be some of the hardest but I didn't realise how challenging it would be with twins!

They certainly are double the laughs, double the joy but also double the stress and double the challenges!

I was extremely thankful for the support that I got yesterday on my post Not Always Easy that I wrote when I was having a moment and was feeling quite broken. It is amazing how some lovely comments can help to pick you up. I also realised that I am not the only one who struggles sometimes.

Fingers crossed we will have a better week next week!

  1. I can find myself tearing my hair out with one ridiculously troublesome toddler, and a big sister who can be great, or who can lead him astray even further, depending on her mood! So, I can relate, and the thought of having 2 of my son running about creating havoc is not good! Glad you got some support, and hope this coming week is more about twice the fun than twice the stress x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  2. I hope you have a better week this week! I found it so hard with one, still do at 8 if I am honest so it must even worse with twins at their age #WotW

  3. I can imagine that dealing with two toddlers at once must be immensely frustrating, I really don't know how you do it. But like you say, you're definitely not alone...Hope next week has more giggles than tantrums :)

  6. Ah, I feel your pain - maybe not double the pain, but sometimes its equally hard with two of different ages, different demands and needs! I nearly had a meltdown yesterday when I thought my littlest had stabbed himself in the eye for one brief scary moment - there was a lot of screaming and stress all round but things calmed down eventually! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!! X #wotw

  7. It is easy to underestimate how much hard work toddlers are. My middle 2, although not twins are only 54 weeks apart in age so were not dissimilar to twins. It was often in tears but it passes and from twice the trouble you get twice the fun x #wotw

  11. Gosh it sounds like it's been a tough week Kirsty. I've no useful suggestions I'm afraid as I just have a 3 year old - who can be a challenge. They just like to push the boundaries I guess, test what they can get away with. Hopefully next week will be better :)

  20. I think we all understand. Those moments when we feel as though we can't do it anymore, when we're tired and are pushed to our limits. Those giggles are what makes it all worthwhile though :) My stresses these days come from my teenager!! x
